THE BIG PICTURE

If you are flying in to California, we recommend renting a car at the airport. Car rentals in San Francisco proper are cumbersome and expensive.

The travel time from San Francisco to The Land will vary depending on when you start your journey. Please please please avoid rush hour! We strongly recommend that you hit the road by 2 / 2:30 pm on Friday.

For those coming from the east coast, a great itinerary would be to take a flight out on Thursday, rent a car at the airport and spend the night soaking in the San Francisco city lights, then taking a leisurely morning Friday meandering up through wine country, arriving at The Land just in time for our Welcome Festival on Friday.

When searching for flights, please check:

  • San Francisco (SFO)
  • Oakland (OAK)
  • San Jose (SJC)

San Francisco and Oakland are the most convenient of the three. However, San Jose is also an option, if it works for you! Flying in to San Jose will add a bit of time on to the drive, so please plan accordingly.

If you're last-minute type folks, we recommend arriving by noon on Friday to allow yourself enough time for car rental and the beautiful drive to The Land!
